Here it is nearly Christmas, 2003 and it seems like only yes-terday that it was Christmas, 2002. I guess when you get to be 88 years old time just goes faster. At least it seems that way. Of course we all know that time goes along the same for everyone regardless of who you are and whatever your age.
I can still remember quite vividly some of my early Christmas mornings and the excitement that accompanied those days. And I also remember the years when our daughters were little and the joy that filled their hearts, and of course ours, when they opened their gifts.
And now we are looking for our family members coming to celebrate Christmas with us the Sunday before the actual day. And there will be around 28 of us. There are 4 family members who will not be able to attend. But four generations will be here with us this year and we certainly look forward to it with a great deal of anticipation. It will be so much fun and the food and fellowship will be in abundance.
But Christmas is so much more than the giving and reciev-ing of gifts. At least it should be. It should be a time of remem-bering the greatest gift of all. The gift of God's great love for mankind when he sent his Son, Jesus Christ , into the world. And then Jesus exemplified that love in just those few years that he was alloted to be with us and in giving his life for our sakes. Blessed be God!
We wish all of you who see this message a very Blessed Christmas and a fruitful New Year!
