You know it is just too bad how many of us continually postpone our happiness for a later date.  It isn’t that we consciously determine to do it, but we keep convincing ourselves, “Someday I’ll really be happy.”  For example we tell ourselves that we’ll be happy when our bills are all paid, when we are out of school, get that good job we are after, or get a promotion then I'll be happy. We convince ourselves that life will be better when we get married and can settle down.  Then we will be happy after we have our first child, and then another.  After that we are frustrated because our kids aren’t old enough and we will be happy when they are.  But then we are thwarted because we have to deal with all the problems accompanied with having teenagers around the house.  We certainly will be happy when that stage of life is past.  We are positive that we will be happy when our spouse gets his or her act together, or when we get a nicer house, when we get a new car, or can go on a nice vacation.  We will surely be happy when we retire.

The truth is dear friends, there is no better time to be happy than right now.  If not now, when?  Your life will always be filled with obstacles of one kind or another.  The best alternative is to just admit that and make up your mind to be happy anyway.  So make up your mind to the fact that the obstacles are your life.  If you accept this perspective you will soon see that there is no one way to happiness.  Happiness is the way.  So treasure each and every moment that you have!  And treasure it more because you have shared it with someone special...and remember that time waits for no one...

  Yesterday is history
  Tomorrow a mystery
Today is a gift
That's why it's called the present!

So stop waiting until you finish school, until you lose ten pounds, until you get married,  until you have children, until your kids leave home, until your home or car is paid for, until you retire, until Sunday or maybe until you die.  Decide now, today that there is no better time than right now to be happy...happiness is a journey not a destination.

It’s completely up to you dear friend, to hold your head up high and look whatever problem that comes your way straight in the eye and say, “I will be bigger than you.  You cannot overcome me anymore.  Don’t deny your problem.  Recognize it for what it is and know that the Divine Spark that is in you gives you life that can overcome any financial or relationship perplexity that comes your way.  Remember you cannot be defeated.
